Hi, I’m Pat Ravasio.
I’ve been elected to represent you on the Corte Madera Town Council. I hope this website, used as a virtual office, will make it easy for you to access and to get answers to your questions.
A little about me: I am a community builder. I believe that when we come together with our community and do it often, we contribute greatly to our own well being and longevity.
My other values are the environment and architectural quality. My father was an award winning architect. I believe in architecture’s value to inspire us to greater things.
I’m very excited about the opportunity to continue to help shape Corte Madera’s future. We have serious challenges facing us, including the need for affordable housing, climate change, and securing our financial stability for future uncertain times.

Housing. How do we provide more affordable housing in a way that enhances our community?
Climate. How do we prepare for inevitable sea level rise, increased flooding and wildfire events, and other impacts of climate change?
Amenities. Many exciting projects in works: US 101 Pedestrian Over-crossing, Paradise Drive Bikeway, Parks and Down Town Corte Madera Improvements.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR CORTE MADERA
Co-founded Corte Madera Beautification Committee
Co-founded Oktoberfest - to fund our town’s iconic hanging flower baskets
Created a vision for Cafe Verde and Town Park Plaza and helped to make both happen
Recruited internationally known architectural firm Skidmore Owings and Merrill to design a pedestrian bridge over US 101 at Tamalpais Drive. SOM proposed a unique cantilevered design which Caltrans has just recently presented, some seven years later, to Corte Madera as one of several options. The Town Council selected SOM’s plan (version 4B) as the preferred option, and work is now proceeding by the Town, Caltrans and SOM to make this NYC Highline inspired multimodal connector a reality.
Also, I successfully petitioned the Tamalpais Union High School District to open the Redwood High School swimming pool to the community —after being closed for over a decade
Effective Community Builder
In 2011, I spearheaded an effort to transform a dilapidated building at the entrance to our Town Park, elementary school and recreation center into a community gathering space featuring a beloved locally-owned restauranteur. Thanks to a supportive and creative Town Council, Cafe Verde was born.

I’m very proud of the amazing gathering place created by Saeed (Tony) Farahmand. He invested a great deal in making “tenant improvements” that the Town could not afford. We are lucky he stepped up to create Cafe Verde, and the Corte Madera Community Foundation led an excellent fundraising effort to design and build the beautiful adjoining Town Park Plaza.
CURRENT PROJECTS & PRIORITIES
Continuing work I initiated in 1994 and renewed in 2015 to create an exciting new pedestrian and bicycle overcrossing at US 101 and Tamalpais Drive. This community connector will do much to bridge our two sides of town by providing a safe and inviting pathway at this key location.
Working with master gardeners, UCSF and local volunteer leaders to create new community gardens on both sides of town. These will not only provide garden plots but will help any interested residents learn how to produce more food in their own backyards.
